Probably the most famous clock in the world, Big Ben sits proudly at the north eastern end of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, and has done for more than 150 years. The largest four-faced clock in the world, all eyes in the UK turn to this timepiece at midnight on New Year’s Eve each year to hear the 12 dongs chimed out. One of the capital’s most iconic symbols, it’s part of the Palace of Westminster, which is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.
