Very good value for a centrally located London hotel. My room had just been completely redecorated with new bathroom. Very nice. Single bed a good size and very comfortable. The staff were friendly with 24 hour redeption. Quiet street, good double glazing kept out noise. Other guests were considerate and make little sound. I certainly intend to use this hotel on future visits

Very convenient, nice small ensuite bathroom, excellent breakfast. Very good for a 2 star hotel

We had a very small (basement) room, but with everything you need. Shower/wet room, TV, kettle and fan. All working! The staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean. No complaints! I'll book a stay at the Swinton again.

The personnel of Swinton Hotel was very friendly and the continental breakfast more than sufficient, but the corridors are very narrow and uneasy to "navigate" with any type of luggage, the room was extremely small and the acoustic isolation really bad. The room was so small there was no space to easily lay down and open the suitcase and there was no bedside table

One of the reasons why we chose this hotel was the free WLAN available in the rooms. On our arrival we were told it might not be round sometimes on the upper floors (our room was situated on the 3rd floor) and consequently we could use it only early in the morning (which is definitely not what we were looking for). When we first entered the rooms we were shocked: For that much money we spent during this holiday only for the hotel we expected a much bigger room (one person could hardly walk round the bed in our double room). What was really disgusting was the dust and untidiness all over the place: On the television there was a dust layer of at least 1cm, in the eating room there was a mould stain and broken toilets directly behind the open door to the terrace among all the other litter out there. If you want your room vacuumed your will have to ask for a Hoover yourself (despite the room service). In one of our rooms the windows was so broken and mouldy that we were afraid the glass might break out of the frame. Another annoying point is the staff most of whom speak less English than we and other tourists do which creates a few problems when they ask if you want coffee, tea or toast at the breakfast. Of course there are some positive points, e.g. the location: King's Cross St. Pancras Station is only a few minutes walk so you get everywhere in London quickly; the price is lower than a lot of others in London. But these points can't make up for all the negatives mentioned above
