After reading reviews of this hotel my expectations were very low. When arriving, we also were charged extra for paying with a card. Additionally they made the charge directly in euros without asking first. I ended up paying about 10 euros more than if the charge was made in pounds. The room and bathroom were tidy although small. We had booked a twin room with two single beds, but had a double room with one bed. Me and my boyfriend didn't mind, but e.g for two friends travelling together the bed would have probably felt too narrow. Also in one spot the bottom of the bed had given in. The rooms were cleaned daily, although towels were not changed even when they were left on a bathroom floor (we stayed there for a week). The breakfast was ok: white bread, butter, jam, cereals, orange juice and coffee/tea served in a small room. There was also a microwave for guests to use. One day jam did run out, but otherwise there was enough of everything. Staff were friendly and hotel wasn't at all as shabby as I expected and this comes from somenone who isn't used to budget hotels. There was also wifi available but we also managed to connect to free hotspot in our room. Location was great, the street was full of small hotels. Only a short walk or journey by bus to Victoria station. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel, buses operate frequently through the day and night. That means easy access to Leicester Square (Soho, Chinatown, Covent Garden in night time)

The hotel was conveniently situated, but our room wasn't ready on arrival; didn't have twin beds as requested. It was on the 4th floor, no 17. It was minute, shabby, with a strong smell of paint. There was just one mug to share for drinks. The bathroom was tiny. The mattress was most uncomfortable, very old and lumpy. Breakfast very basic.

Yes, this hotel is cheap and the staff are friendly - and they make your bed every day. However I found my room too small and having a room on the third floor was a complete nightmare, as I was woken up at 8.30 - 9.00am by drilling and banging about upstairs. I would have liked some warning of this, or a room on another floor. I never sampled the breakfast. Stay because it’s cheap, but do not expect much.

I'm glad to get the opportunity to give a rating of this "hotel" Firstly I was charged a further £3 for paying by card having already paid £2.50 when booking. I have booked with you several times before at hotels in the Holly House group at similar price and not been similarly charged. I also think Park Hotel inferior to Holly House. Room quite comfy but breakfast facilities inferior. No waiter service, in fact no more than a self-service breakfast bar like in hostels. Staff surly especially a woman i asked to refill the kettle so I could make my own tea!

I had stayed in The Park Hotel on the 12th Jan 2010 for three days. Overall i liked the hotel. Firstly very close to The Victoria (5 mins walk) & Pimlico (3 mins walk) Stations. The receptionist staff was very friendly, helpful and co-operative and greeted always with a smile. The rooms were okay and both the hotel and rooms were clean. There was a very clean carpet also in the hotel. But the the size of the bathroom and toilet was even smaller than one we see in a train or an aeroplane (but what else do we expect for the price we pay for the room...?). It was okay. Tissues, towels and soap was also provided as usual. It was perfectly warm in the rooms for the atmosphere. The room also consisted of a table/mini table and TV with regional channels. Wireless Internet was also available at rooms for an additional £3 a day (I thought it was bit too costly). They also had a continental breakfast service served from 7:30-9:30am. Housekeeping service also is there in the hotel everyday. They come and clean the room, change linen if necessary and provide new towels if requested. Overall I liked the experience at the Park Hotel. And i am looking forward to stay there again next week for another trip to London.
