Bed and Breakfasts in Woolwich, London

Woolwich was formerly part of Kent before becoming a core naval and weapons manufacturing hub on the banks of the River Thames. It experienced a decline following World War II but has seen somewhat of a rebirth in recent years with a plethora of new shops and restaurants as it attempts to follow in the footsteps of nearby Greenwich. Many people may not realise that Woolwich is at actually the original home of Arsenal FC, where it was founded in 1886 before moving to Highbury in North London in 1913. It was also home to the first UK McDonald's branch, which opened in the area in October 1974.

People staying in bed and breakfasts in Woolwich should make sure to see the Edwardian Baroque town hall and the 18th century Dial Arch building, which overlooks Dial Square. There's ample open space around Woolwich too, such as Winne's Common, Plumstead Gardens and Abbey Wood Park, while the Royal Artillery Museum and the National Maritime Museum are both nearby.
