Lord Mayors Show

This is one of the best events in London where all the family can join in! The Lord Mayor's Show kicks off bright and early at 11am with a street parade with marching bands, dancers and floats setting off from Guildhall past Mansion House and along the River Thames before heading back in the afternoon. Thousands of people turn out to watch the parade before heading on to enjoy the events put on especially during the day. From free guided walks through the City of London to a trip around the museums, galleries and cathedrals that give the City its identity, there is plenty to do before the real party kicks off.

If you missed Bonfire Night then don't worry, as from 5pm the fireworks show gets going, where you can expect to see more than half a tonne of fireworks shooting into the sky over the River Thames.

When and where:

You can head to Central London for the Lord Mayors Show 2012 on November 10th and enjoy a totally free day out! You can reach the City from a number of tube stations, but head to Embankment for the best views of the end of the parade and for the fireworks.
