Cheap hostel, good location and that's basically it. Dont expect clean sanitary/ rooms or happy employees, and then you'll be fine

I had a really great stay there in the 14-bed room. I slept well and it was rather quiet. It was clean, the kitchen ist large and for this price really nice. I give only 4points, because internet was charged and there was no soap in the toilets

Nice hostel, friendly guests and reception staff. Would have preferred doors in the showers rather than flimsy curtains (the one on the shower I was using was half hanging off), aside from that I enjoyed staying

Hyde Park Hostel was very basic to say the least, not the cleanest place either, first night there and I came across a number of cockroaches in the downstairs toilet and the toilet on the floor I was staying on didnt even have a seat! Also the rooms at night are stupidly hot! Most uncomfortable 2 nights ever! The staff at the hostel were very rude and unhelpful and didnt want to know. Wouldnt stay here again

Over all it was what I expected; a bed with no frills. The hotel should segregate the women from the men. The room I stayed in, had both women and men

Great location - and that's about all that's great about the hostel. It's cheap and central so if all you need is a bed, it's perfect.

I did not enjoy my stay at Hyde Park Hostel. If I think of the money I paid for 2 nights I think the quality was very low. The equipment was really poor. Plain rooms, showers without any equipment to hang your clothes on, no shelves to put your shampoo on, no breakfast, not even some coffee or tea, bare white-grey walls, no warmness. The staff I met (receptionists) were really kind though! The reception was open 24 hours a day, which was good as I didn't feel safe with drunk people in my room. The building is nice and big and if they want to, they can turn it into a nice/warm hostel so that people want to come back. I am giving this review, not to complain, but for their benefit, that Hyde Park Hostel will improve

Nice room with cool guests. Pick a mixed room if you want to stay there! Bathrooms not that good. Not much traffic noise. Hostel is good for people who only want to sleep there while doing a shopping trip for 3 days.

A quiet, inexpensive, central, low-budget and multicultural place to stay. In London, near Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park and 4 minutes walk away from two tube stations (Queensway and Bayswater) which connect you to the central, district and circle lines. I liked the quiet surroundings, the various eateries, pubs, retailer and breakfast places nearby on Queensway. I liked the old Victorian house and the reliable and swift check in and checkout services, effective receptionist services and possibilities of using the internet although some machines seem to be out of work from time to time. Though cleanliness seems to be a problem once in a while (there was hearsay of dirty and stenchy rest rooms and shower rooms) this did not contradict an overall positive impression of the place. The staff were swift and friendly and the facility was really valuable considering the revolutionary price. I will almost certainly come back with another group of the Abendgymnasium Bielefeld. Guys, keep on cleaning up the place and stay in the same price category; all's well then! Cheers and all the best of luck to the Hyde Park Hostel, its multicultural guests, its staff and its management.

In general it was ok. The buiding looks nice, nice surroundings, close to the Tube. Nice service. Rooms looked clean. They were redecorating the building. For the price and location, this was OK.

One of the worst hostel experiences. outdated with filthy bathrooms. No lifts and hostel goes up to 4Th floor. Communal showers on every floor but mine was broken so have to use 3rd floor one. The only good thing is the location, quite Centrally Bayswater.

The beds were the best part of the stay, they had very good quality mattresses. As for the rest of it, I don't rate it. The shower on my floor was out of order. Kitchen facilities were poor. 1 cup and only a coule of spoons and there was not a great quantity of plates or forks eiher. It is not up to the standard that I have experienced in Australia and New Zealand. How it compares to others in the UK I don't know because I haven't stayed in any others in the UK.

The place looked very old and horrible. The room and the shower were just about okay.

This was probably THE most foul place I've ever stayed . . . yeah, it's cheap, but the bathrooms and water smelled, the paint on all of the inside and outside walls was cracked, it was dirty in general, and there was broken furniture, garbage and leftovers from construction sites all over the place. Not for the weak of heart . . .

This hostel was the most untidy, dirty and uncomfortable place I've ever been in my whole life. The toilets and the showers were very old and badly built. Also were always in a dirty state - really, really dirty. There were lots of insects and the walls, doors and floor, were all broken, dirty, etc. I'm really upset about that.
