The central location of this hotel is absolutely excellent, a mere 5 min walk from central rail/bus/coach/underground lines. It is a very simple hotel, not luxurious, but clean. The bed linen, towels and toilet were very clean. Tea making faciities are available in the room alongside a TV. The TV has an arial that is on top and may need a slight adjustment to recieve a clearer picture. For the price, it is sufficient. The perfect place for a few nights, as a base to tour central London or as a stop off for travelling. Breakfast was served by a very polite gentleman, which was a real addition to my stay. Breakfast is simple but filling, choice of cereals, toast, jams, tea or coffee and orange juice all served individually to a well set, clean breakfast table in the dining room. Checkout time 10am. Location 9 out of 10.

Nice and simple hotel, was just a quick stopover. Fantastic and outstanding price. A simple cheap thrill hotel with continental breakfast which suited me fine. I would class this hotel a 1 star NOT 2 star. Rooms do smell of smoke and I had to turn my fridge off to get some sleep

Friendly, helpful and very clean. Not bad at all for a 1 star hotel. The only gripe was that the doors were not sound-proof and it was really noisy in the evening when people came home and in the morning

Poor accommodation with a lot of work needing to bring it up to a reasonable standard. Staff pleasant, room quiet, bed comfy but dirty round its base. Shower hot and pleasant but draw was dropping off bedside cabinet. Toilets on the landing smelt awful with doors left open for all to see. Breakfast basic, cornflakes or cocco pops, white bread, kitchen roll for serviettes. However, it was cheap so what can you expect

You certainly get what you pay for. This accommodation was poor, the room was poorly decorated and furnished. Within 10 mins of arriving someone wanted to come in to clean it. I would have hoped it was cleaned before we arrived. The breakfast was appauling, some toast, soggy cereal and weak tea. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The room had an en suite which was a very poor shower in a tiny room with a toilet which didn't have the room. Everytime you had a shower, the toilet and toilet roll got soaked. Only stay if you really can only afford low budget as it wasnt worth it

I stayed at the Holly house hotel for 10 days. Generally, we were satisfied, I was totally ready for what we were going to find there; extremely small room, basic cleaning. We barely spent time in the room so we didn't care about the facilities that much. If you want just a bed for the night and the rest of the day going sightseeing, its the best solution. If you don't demand a very clean room and need a really cheap accomodation choose it. I had booked for a private toilet and we had it as we asked for. The part that dissappointed us was the breakfast ( just toast and butter or marmelade, a cup of tea or coffee and some corn flakes with cheap milk). The most important was that they wouldn't change our sheets for 10 whole days!! One night I stumbled and fell on the street, so I had a wound on my knee and the same night my sheets got really stained by blood while I was sleeping. They didn't change them then either...also, there is no closet in the room, just a small cabinet were you can hang just 5 clothes, so we had them in the suitcases or on the beds. The people who cleaned our room used to throw our clothes on the floor and leave them there in order to make the beds!!! The room was warm, even if the heating was on just in the corridor, not in the room but we didn't get cold at all. On the other hand, we met some tourists who were staying in a room in the basement and they said that they were freezing down there!!!(our room was on the ground floor). So maybe the 'good' or the 'bad' room depends on luck. Don't take heavy baggage because there is no lift!! The position is just GREAT, very central, next to Victoria metro station, many pubs, supermarket, bus stations. I would stay again in that hotel, considering that we took what we paid for and believe me, the 'real' hotels in London are extremely expensive!

Simple no nonsense at a cheap price in the heart of the city. Clean & quiet. Ideal for younger travellers simply looking for a roof over your head

The stay at Holly House hostel was okay, maybe the shower was a bit small in the private bathroom of the room, but it was okay.

Do not suffer from claustrofobia when staying at Holly House. My single room was 2 X 4 meters. Everything is small: Toilets, baths, breakfast room etc. But it was really good value for money. A clean room and a nice staff. I got the experience of a classic little hotel in London downtown. If you go to London on a small budget, this is an excellent choice. And most importantly, it is centrally located only 200 meters from the south entrance to Victoria Staion. My best recommendations

Small rooms and very small shower rooms. However it is clean and for a short stay while sightseeing is adequate. Very convenient from Victoria coach and train stations

A comfortable room. Breakfast a little basic and cramped but I realise this was a budget option so I shouldn't expect the earth

Brilliant!! Close to Victoria coach and railway station and a pub at the end of the road!!! Small rooms, but who cares? You won't be staying in it for long, when you are out and about. Very reasonable price, would definately use again and for the people who complained about the rail noise, it was minimal and you also got breakfast
