Exterior at the European Hotel was impressive, but it was a different story on the inside. The room was VERY small, dark and depressing and the communal shower room looked less than clean. Breakfast was luke-warm. This hotel was cheap - but not cheerful... (On the positive side, it was possible to leave luggage after checking out)

A pleasant stay. Room was small but comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfasts were excellent. A good budget hotel close to the main stations so very convenient

I stayed in one of the basic single rooms with shared bathroom. For a hotel in Zone 1 and within walking distance of Central London, the price was hard to beat. The accommodation was what you would expect for the price. The room was clean but very small, and there was a single shared shower that wasn't exactly sparkling clean. There wasn't much noise from outside, but the walls were very thin so I think I was lucky I didn't have a noisy neighbour. I didn't try the breakfast. Basically, a good place if you're on a tight budget and need somewhere central just to sleep and wash

Room cleaned every day, European Hotel is very well located in London, low prices. A good deal for a long weekend in London

Nice hotel, close to Kings Cross / St Pancras, room was tiny, but we'll book again

The hotel is well-located near King's Cross/St. Pancras. Rooms are kept very clean and tidy, and the buffet English breakfast, which is included, is very filling. The only drawback is occasionally noisy guests, a problem which is exacerbated by the thin walls.

Marvellous as ever! Room was very comfortable, reception very friendly, great night's sleep, no queue for either shared toilet or bathroom despite hotel being fully booked. Fine breakfast and plenty of it! I love this place! You do get what you pay for though - if you're looking for 5* luxury, this isn't it, but if you need a comfortable bed in a fab location, book it!

Very bad service in terms of everything! Rude Eastern European restaurant personnel, dirty kitchen, appalling shower and toilets, corridor smelled horribly, room very tiny. Everything seemed horrendous, worse than in 16th century!

The hotel was very clean and in a great location for everywhere in London. Staff very friendly. I would stay again without doubt.

Awful. We actually suffered at this hotel. First, there are no elevator- so we had to drag our extremely heavy luggage up 3 floors. And then, when we arrived to our room, we started to hear unbelievably loud noises from the pipes in the walls. The noise was so loud that we couldn't sleep for two days, and when we asked to move to another room the only solution they came up with was to move us to a deserted hotel down the street, with no people (employees or visitors) in it. It felt like living in a haunted house. All in all, it was a terrible visit.

Well for £50 the accommodation was reasonable. The TV worked well. But the shower was broken and was either red hot or cold - no halfway house. Breakfast was ok. But all in all I suppose for London it was adequate.

Twin bedroom small, but clean. Great cooked breakfast. Pleasant staff. Shower room small, but all you need if exploring London. Value for money a big yes.

The room was small but tidy - great for a one night stay. Breakfast wasn't so good, though.

The hotel was in a very convenient location, very close to the tube and bus stations. Also, there is an internet cafe just a block from the hotel. The room was clean, and the breakfast was the typical English breakfast. Overall, we were satisfied, considering the price and good location.

We've used this hotel several times, and never had any problems. Sure, the rooms are small, but we never plan on spending much time in a hotel room when visiting London anyway. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and you get a cooked breakfast thrown in too. And only a minute or so to walk from Kings Cross station.

It was exactly as described i.e. basic accommodation with rather small rooms and shower but adequate. Excellent location for King's Cross. Buffet breakfast very good. Staff pleasant and helpful.

I expected nothing too special for such a cheap price in London and this is what I got. Fine for an overnight stop for one, comfortable bed in a small room. Shower a bit of a squeeze but functional. Television aerial cable was broken so bad picture and lighting was a bit dim with no lamp shade either, so a bit stark. All in all though, can't really complain too much, room was clean if poorly furnished and could do with a lick of paint. Excellent location and I would use again although not for a romantic weekend with the wife! Didn't stay for breakfast, so cannot comment on that. Staff were friendly enough upon arrival too.
