Myself and two friends stayed at the European for three nights and we all came home knowing that we had a really good deal. For a hotel in Central London the price was excellent. The rooms were small but spotless and the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. It didn't matter to any of us that the rooms were small because it was only a place to put our heads down at night. Let's face it, you don't go to London to sit in your hotel room. Breakfast was basic but filling and kept us going till we ate in the evening. Would recommend this hotel to anyone on a tight budget - definitely value for money.

Front desk staff were very, very pleasant and helpful. Room was small but workable. The breakfast was very carnivorous, so vegetarians and vegans beware. My one real complaint was that there was a bright street light just outside our window, so it was quite bright in our room all night (and the curtains were essentially useless against this). If you like to sleep in the dark, be sure to get a room at the back. The hotel should install blackout drapes in the front rooms.

Room, laundry and shower room were clean - but in need of decoration. Window did not lock. TV was tuned to only 2 channels. Staff a bit surly.

I was put in a back room on the ground floor. The window was left open by cleaning staff and even though I closed it the room stayed very cold. I don't think the radiator worked very well. I was cold all night, even with an extra blanket. Have stayed here before and not had this problem in other rooms. The rooms are very small but clean

Staff was friendly, breakfast was impressive. Hotel convenience was nice--tv, bathroom, coffee pot, fresh towels daily. Location was great - one block from St. Pancras station. Room itself was tight and some of the cleaning had been neglected, but overall, a good hostel b&b experience

Great location for exploring London. The room was clean but small. Breakfast was very good. I was going to Paris the day after I stayed at the hotel - the Eurostar Station was 3 minutes walk away, which was ideal . There is no lift, so this could present some people with a problem. But I'm sure a ground floor room would be allocated if there was a need for it. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and I would use it again.

This was the cheapest place I could find at the time I was looking and it also happened to be near where I needed to be. I thought it was excellent, in view of what I paid. Basic, but friendly. Clean sheets and good breakfast with no hanging about waiting for it.

This hotel is very excellent. The hotel is located in a very excellent location, close to the exit of tube station and Kings Cross Railway Station. There are many things to eat nearby. Staff are very helpful!

Wouldn't hesitate to return. Everywhere nice and clean. Good location. Nice breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. Nice room but be prepared for small (shouldn't expect anything else for the money)

The hotel is in a perfect area, just opposite King's Cross station. I stay here almost every time I come to London. The rooms are small but they are OK for 2 people. The only bad thing is that there is no lift there. So it wasn't good for me and my friend to carry the 32 kilo- luggage up to the top floor. So be prepared if you have heavy luggage. The staff were very nice as she suggested us to stay in the room (which has no ventilation) in the basement. However, we preferred the one on the top floor. Apart from this, everything is perfect

Clean, warm and comfortable. Really convenient for the train station and underground. Room smallish but perfectly adequate. Good breakfast gives you a good start to the day. Well recommended

Stayed for 8 weeks. Breakfast finishes at 9am on the dot with no exceptions of 9.01. Yuck breakfast at that. Small rooms. Very loud place and if you have a room on street you hear everything along with rooms above you. You hear them walking, flushing and creaking beds! You hear people walking up the stairs as well. All rooms have heavy doors and they all slam loudly. Kitchen staff and cleaners are very rude. They roughly made my bed every day and actually only cleaned it once a week and changed sheets once a week. After 8 weeks of staying there they still made me pay for a late checkout. In saying all of this, I overall find most of central London and London quite rude and below average in all areas of hospitality compared to Australia. Their bad food and service is few and far between

Basic, but very clean room, friendly personnel, English breakfast, hot water, and two minutes to King's Cross station. Good choice, would recommend to stay there

Stayed in room with small double bed and en suite. Room was clean and well presented, with tea making facilities and tv. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Mattress was on the thin side and I did not sleep well

I, and the friend I shared the room with, was happy with the location and the service at the hotel. However, there were a few things that we thought could be improved. In the room, there was no hook where you could hang your clothes and no bedside lamps. We also missed a shelf for the shower, with room for shampoo and the like. We would also have liked the breakfast to stop serving a little later on Saturdays. When we booked a taxi through the hotel for an early morning flight on the day of our return, we seemed to get some sort of black cab which we thought charged us an over-price on the journey. Apart from these remarks, we were happy with the facilities and the price for a central London hotel

The room clearly needed a maintenance, as few spots of the wall paper had been ripped off. TV remote controller should been replaced with new batteries

Our room is uncomfortable as it is filled with thick tobacco smell, which left by previous stayer. The smell nearly choked us and caused sleeping trouble at night. Complaint to the receptionist, no proper action taken

First impressions weren't good: narrow corridors, poor lighting in small, cramped room. But in fact the hotel was convienient and quiet, beds were comfortable, the room warm and the breakfast good
