The huge Norwegian Christmas Tree that has been given from Oslo since 1947 will once more be the focal point of Trafalgar Square with its illuminations (lighting ceremony on 6 December 2018) and choirs singing carols during Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree and Carols, with daily performances from Monday 10 to Friday 21 December (excluding Saturday 15 December 2018).

Fans of all things equine will love watching the show-jumping competitions and going equestrian shopping at the London International Horse Show at Olympia Exhibition Centre from 17 to 23 December 2018.

Take a stroll along the banks of the Thames between the London Eye and Waterloo Bridge and you’ll be treated to a very festive atmosphere thanks to the wooden chalet stalls selling gifts, decorations and food at the Wintertime Markets at Southbank Centre, on from 9 November to 27 December 2018.

The most iconic place in the capital to celebrate the arrival of the New Year is by the River Thames at the Mayor of London's New Year's Eve Fireworks Display by the London Eye on 31st December 2018, which in 2014 became a ticketed event, and tickets must be purcashed in advance.
