Cally, Irish (21 May 12)

After reading the reviews I was quite worried about staying here. We booked a quadruple family room and after a long drive over from Ireland we were all tired on arrival. The room was quite small but warm and clean, one double bed and two single, the sheets and towels were clean and also the bathroom. Our TV worked fine and it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was toast and cereal, along with tea and coffee and orange juice. Overall, Queens Hotel London is great value for money and we were pleasantly surprised, we will be coming again next year

I read the prior reviews (which were far from flattering) before deciding to take a risk on the Queens Hotel London. The double room was very small, with no bedside lighting, no drawer storage for clothes, and minimal hot beverage supplies which weren't replaced for the second night. The stopper was missing from the wash basin, and towels were small and thin. A shame, really, as a little (and not costly) attention to small details would have made this rather shabby hotel feel much better. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful and did their best to please - including the provision of extra pillows - a request which in our experience is often ignored

Very good value for money, staff very friendly and most helpful. Continental breakfast very plentiful: 3 choices of cereals, toast with a variety of jam, orange juice, tea, coffee; no limit, just eat what you want. Twin room we had seemed a little small but we were only sleeping there and for what we paid we were highly satisfied. Would certainly stay at this hotel in Londo on our next visit to Crystal Palace

Lynn, Singaporean (27 April 12)

Stayed in Queens Hotel London for 6 nights. The hotel is situated right up to the top and we had to "hike" to the hotel from the nearest tube station, Crystal Palace. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation. We were given a room right down at the basement and the walk from the reception to the room took us approximately 6-10 minutes. Room directions were not clear. The room had poor ventilation with a small window right near to the ceiling! We asked for a room change near to the reception since we are 4 female travellers but we were informed that the hotel was currently full. After much persuasion, we were given a much better room by one of the staff. Free WiFi is only provided at the lobby. Breakfast provided was ok and nice. Breakfast staff are much friendlier than the front office staff. There's no hair dryer provided in the room, but it can be provided at a cost. Needless to say, a lovely stay but the location is quite far from the nearest tube station, Crystal Palace

Very good hotel. Great value, train station nearby and good restaurants. Clean and reasonably well maintained, have stayed before and will book Queens Hotel London again. Get what you pay for and in this case a bit more considering it is London.
