Wanted to charge me 5 pounds for leaving my suitcase at reception for one hour (after check-out at 11:00): considering I didn't take breakfast not one single morning during my stay, I was upset about their lack of flexibility. Location? Just brilliant. Staff were polite but not helpful. I wouldn't stay again at this hotel unless I really had to

The location of the hotel is great! It is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. But the room was extremely tiny and very basic. There was no place to store things properly, wardrobe etc, so it was literally packed when my suitcase was in the room. There was a very small bathroom, which was also the shower, but no toilet. This was downstairs. The breakfast room was tiny and there was no lobby. I had to pay 4 percent extra for using my credit card and I think GBPP5 for storing my luggage on departure day. For the price I paid per night I have stayed in better hotels in the same region

This hotel has very different standards. The first night I had booked a single room but they gave me a cold double room in the basement which smelled of damp and was honestly worse than most hostels I stayed in travelling in Mexico. The room I was moved in to afterwards was clean, comfortable and definitely a 3 star standard so there are nice rooms available.

The hotel has a great location but it seems they have tried to fit in as many rooms as possible to make money without thinking of comfort. Also we had serious problems with hot water on the 4th floor. On our second day we had to have showers in our friends room on the 2nd floor as we had no hot water. We were also concerned with fire safety in the hotel as all the fire doors on each floor were being held open by fire extinguishers instead of being left closed. A fire hazard in my opinion

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, 24hr reception, clean and nice room, most importantly, the location was fantastic- literally, 2/3 mins away from Notting Hill Gate station. Breakfast was ok, there was very little choice, the dining room only fits bout 20 people but not worth complaining about unless you're a breakfast person. The room was quite small (double bed) but won't be a problem for single guests. Might be a bit cramped if you're sharing the room or have a lot of luggage. Toilet was clean and 2 bath towels and a face towel was provided. Kettle, tea and coffee was provided in the room. The sink is really small so the kettle does not fit under it, but you can always use the mugs provided to pour water into it. Only stayed for 4 days, during the Xmas period, and it was pretty quiet, plus the heating was good for winter. Would definintely stay there again
