South Woodford, where Grove Hill Hotel is located, is residential, so don’t expect the area to be crammed with attractions. However, you will find plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and popular markets on nearby George Lane. You will also find it easy to access beautiful Epping Forest. When you want to head into Central London, hop on a tube on the Central Line; you can get to Liverpool Street Station in 20 minutes. The reception when we arrived was very unwelcoming, but the room and ensuite was nice and clean, and the breakfast was good

I stayed there with a friend for two weeks in July. The room (a double with private bathroom) was "big" and clean, but we noticed that they didn't change the sheets (and we also had to ask for some new towels). Time for breakfast was 7.30-8.30 so we had it only three times. The position wasn't very good (45 minutes by tube from Oxford Circus) but for his prices... I think that it could be good for a weekend but not for long staying

First time staying in London for 7 years. Excellent hotel - only down side was distance from central London which was 30 mins by tube. That said, I would certainly stay here again, as it was reasonably priced and has a good shopping and dining area 5 mins from hotel

Accommodation was OK, although the bathrooms were a little dirty and missing bare essentials such as a plug for the sink. The breakfast provided was OK, apart from having to use UHT milk for cereal, which always tastes pretty horrible. Staff were helpful and friendly
