Barkston Rooms does what it says on the tin - it is a youth hostel, and definitely nothing more. There are no curtains on the windows in the single rooms (at least the one I stayed in), and the room was not once cleaned during my two week stay. The communal areas are clean enough, but you will at no time become confused and think you are in a hotel. The staff vary between extreme friendliness, and reserved professionalism. The room had a fridge, which was very convenient. Most importantly for this type of accommodation, the location in Earl's Court absolutely cannot be beaten for convenience

The hostel is in a great location, in the heart of London, and is excellent value for money. The rooms are spacious and clean and well maintained. The only drawback is the kitchen, where no utensils at all are available. Its a case of bring your own, unless you want to eat out

A cheap and very good situated hostel, if you have high exceptions you probably will be disappointed but if you are adaptable, it's a good thing staying there! You'll meet people from all over the world and you'll have fun

Clean, nicely located but pretty expensive. Would recommend it for people that just need a place for there bags and to sleep. Bummer that you could not use the kitchen on the mornings. Nice guys in the reception
