Barkston Rooms Reviews
Very clean, comfortable, and friendly staff
Barkston Rooms was clean and in a great location near the tube and walking distance for most places. Kitchen came in handy so I extended my stay. Would recommend it for somewhere cheap in central London
Barkston Rooms are clean and good, double beds as on the pictures. The only problem was the bathroom and the fact that we had to shower in the bathroom two floors upstairs because our was out of order, but all in all it was ok. The employee are very nice and helpful. And the location of the hostel is excellent. It's in a very nice neighbourhood, close to an underground station so you won't have any problems getting wherever you want
This hostel is in a great location close to the tube and local shopping. Also really easy access around central London. I was up for the marathon and traveled around lots so the location was great for me. Reception were friendly and helpful, I didnt require much but my room had been misbooked and I was upgraded with no problems at all (I am never unpleasant to staff - a policy I think pays off generally!) Its by no means fancy- it is a very basic London hostel but the bed was very clean and ok. I had a fridge and a sink in my room which were also clean but only one and a half curtains - a factor that made me chuckle! The shower/toilet was opposite my room, was clean and in good condition. There was always plenty of hot water and I never once queued to use it! The maid appeared regularly to clean it . There is a communal kitchen which is also used to supply food for the vast numbers of students. This is definitely a hostel for younger people though it is not particularly noisy. You need your own utensils for the kitchen but you can get by this by buying ready meals at one of the many supermarkets within a few minutes walk. I have stayed in better hotels near to Kings Cross for a similar amount of money so would probably head to one of those next time. It's not the best accommodation I have stayed in for the money
