Barkston Rooms is located in a beautiful, secure area. Staff available, hostel open 24 hours. To recommend
Barkston Rooms is very basic, just bed in the room, no other furniture, wooden floor. But upon arrival I asked for a room with own bathroom instead of the share bathroom I had booked so that might have something to do with it. Also no towels at all! I was very impressed with easy availability of WiFi in bedroom, many cheaper chains don’t offer it. All was scrupulously clean. Very close to Earls Court Tube. I didn't ask for food. No sound proofing in any way but on the other hand, generally very quiet
I've Justed stayed at Barkston Garden and I can honestly say I will never be going back there again. I stayed there for 4 nights in block 19 around the back and in the 4 nights 5 days i was there we had no hot water what so ever, so it was a cold shower and a wash through out my stay. I spoke to the guy on reception and I was told the boiler had broken and they were waiting for a part to fix it (what 4 days yeah right) Bathrooms and rooms were dirty and not much toilet roll in the toilets.
Great price! Stayed in an 8 bed female dorm room with private bathroom (Room 1302H - 2nd floor of main building) Really appreciated the private bathroom as didn’t like the idea of sharing a bathroom with the whole hostel. Room was clean and bathroom was very modern, however there was no mirror! Not in the room or the bathroom! EIGHT ladies in a room with NO MIRROR! HORRENDOUS!!! Hahaha, it wasn't too bad as I had a personal mirror but it’s definitely needed. Will give a rating of 4/5 as there’s no lock on sliding bathroom door, shower leaks a little and there’s motion sensor lighting that switch on when door is opened but also switches off after a few minutes of inactivity (eg: sitting on the toilet lol or in the shower cubicle) You have to wave for the light to switch on again. Quite annoying whilst showering having to open cubicle door to wave light back on! But I guess saving energy/the planet is the most important aim afterall! Would definitely book Barkston Rooms again
Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were cleaned and bins were emptied everyday. Only thing wrong is there wasn't always soap in the toilets but other than that a really good cheap place to stay, I would recommend Barkston Rooms
The rooms were okay but what is expected for a cheap London hostel. We booked a 4 person room but upon arriving they only 2 beds available in 2 different 4 person bedrooms, so instead they gave us our own double for no additional cost. So that was great and very nice. The outdoors was a little loud with cars passing by during the night and people outside but when it got later it got quieter. Overall, it is good if you need a cheap place to stay for the night or if you are barely in the room
Awful hostel. Dirty and broken shower. Limited amount of lockers. Horrible smell, 4 power holes in a room for 10 people and those above the beds.
I enjoyed the stay at Barkston Rooms. It's very clean when it comes to showers and toilets. The only thing that I didn't like- there is too many people in one room (you don't have to add additional bunk bed in). Thank you
I would give Savio, who worked on reception at Barkston Rooms, a 5/5 review. He was very helpful and friendly when dealing with me on my visit
The bathromm wasn't very clean. The beds were uncomfortable. The staff was very kind at Barkston Rooms
