You cannot get much more central than St James's! There are two tube station in the district - St James's Park on the District and Circle lines and Green Park, on the Victoria and Piccadilly lines, to help you get around London. The London Eye, which is close to Waterloo Tube Station gives you fantastic views of the capital and is just 4 minutes away from St James's Park. You’ll also be only 6 minutes from Oxford Circus Station so you can shop ‘til you drop on Oxford Street. The famous Covent Garden market and all the street entertainers and pubs at Covent Garden Tube Station are 8 minutes from St James's Park Tube Station, so you are never far from a bargain or two. London's most historic attraction, the Tower of London, is just 14 minutes away at Tower Hill Tube Station too.

If you drive around the area there are plenty of car parks in Westminster. Just a short walk from St James's Park Tube Station is a NCP car park on Pavillion Road.

If you want to use taxis to get around the district, there are lots of taxi companies in the area. A couple of the most reliable are Cars Connect on Page Street, Millbank Cars on Page Street and Ranco Express on Lexington Street.

Once you’ve exhausted the huge range of attractions in St James’s itself, you could head out on foot to explore attractions in surrounding districts. If you start out at St James’s Park Tube Station you can get to Embankment - about a 10-minute walk - where you can sit by the River Thames and have a drink in some of the nearby pubs. A short 15-minute walk away is the National Portrait Gallery, whilst the London Aquarium can be reached if you enjoy a short 15 minute walk over Westminster Bridge. You can get the perfect view of London on the London Eye if you walk for 20 minutes to Waterloo.
