How to get around Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport Train
The quickest way to get from Heathrow Airport into Central London is to catch the Heathrow Express Train, which takes just 15 minutes and transports you to Paddington Train Station. Trains depart every 15 minutes, so you won’t have to wait long for the next service! At Paddington you can catch the tube across the capital or stroll to Hyde Park or Little Venice. The other option is to take the Heathrow Connect train, which takes under 30 minutes to get to Paddington Station, and stops at stations in West London along the way including Southall and Ealing Broadway.
Heathrow Airport Tube
You can catch a tube from Heathrow Airport right into central London! There are four tube stations for you to choose from which are Heathrow 1, 2 and 3, Terminal 4, Terminal 5 and Hatton Cross. These are all situated on the Piccadilly Line so you can get to Earls Court and the massive Earls Court Exhibition Centre in around 30 minutes. You can get off at South Kensington and explore the Natural History Museum in around 38 minutes, or stop off at Hyde Park Corner in just 40 minutes. The neon lights of Piccadilly Circus are only 42 minutes away. You can even get to Covent Garden where you’ll find Covent Garden Market in around 45 minutes.
Heathrow Airport Parking
If you plan on driving to Heathrow Airport, you’ll certainly find plenty of parking here! The long stay car parks are ideal if you’re jetting off for a number of days on holiday, but the short stay car parks make more sense if you’re dropping someone off, picking someone up, or taking a domestic flight for a day. If you’re flying out of Heathrow on business you may want to use the business parking that’s close to the terminals and offers fast and frequent transfers. You could even treat yourself to Heathrow valet parking where you drop off your car at airport terminal and they drive it back to the forecourt upon your return! These can all be booked in advance.
Heathrow Airport Taxis
To get to your hotel, or into central London, from Heathrow Airport you can also make the most of black cabs. You will find large taxi ranks with a constant supply of black cabs on each of the terminal forecourts. It will take you about an hour to get to central London in a cab.
Heathrow Airport On Foot
As Heathrow Airport is so huge, covering an area of almost 4.69 miles, you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere within walking distance! However there is plenty to keep you occupied in Heathrow Airport itself, as you’ll see from our itinerary.
