STAY Central, Edinburgh

STAY Central is located in the heart of Edinburgh and is one of the oldest hotels in the city. Built in 1621 for the Guild of Tailors, this building was revamped in 1998 to become a popular three star hotel. Only minutes away from the Royal Mile, this hotel is located on a quiet part of the Grassmarket, which is home to many of the city’s best pubs and bars. A pay car park is nearby, which offers a discount for hotel guests. STAY Central occasionally hosts themed events, barbeques and outdoor discos in its lively beer garden.

At STAY central we aim a little bit higher than just providing you with a good night’s sleep. We have 37 fresh and refurbished bedrooms perfect for 2 to share or bedrooms for up to 6 guests. We like to look after you and free Wi-Fi is a must for our guests. Each of our bedrooms have large flat screen TV’s, iPod docks, rain fall showers to get lathered up in and lots of little extras you won’t expect. We want to be known for evermore as the wee hotel in the middle of Edinburgh that blew your socks off.

Attractions

STAY Central allows you to explore much of Edinburgh without extensive travelling. Princes Street and the Royal Mile are only minutes away. Room was not ready when we entered the room after check-in. Concierge initially said no other room but then finally had a room for us. Room carpet seemed not that clean. Just 2-3 TV channels. Bed was comfortable! Very close to Royal Mile and WIFI only available in reception area.

We stayed at Tailors Hall over New Years Eve for Hogmany Festival and found the hotel to be in a great location and the staff were fantastic. However, our room was on level one, right next to the bar and the room was extremely noisy. I was disappointed we were not advised of this previously by the hotel before our arrival

Tailors Hall itself was good value for money. The noise wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be (I'd read some bad reviews) so I was happy about that. To be honest the staff were not that friendly so that was a disappointment, it's not that hard to smile really! But overall.. a run-down hotel where you get what you pay for and not much else!

Great service at Tailors Hall! The staff were really friendly and helpful. There's a nightclub downstairs which is lots of fun. Our room was clean.. I don't really have a thing to complain about. Even the location was superb. Good shower too!

Found Tailor's Hall to be an excellent location. Walking distance to all the sights. Large comfortable, clean rooms and despite the fact that our room overlooked the courtyard and we were worried about being kept awake all night, we slept like babies
