A London hostel like Hyde Park Inn is a great way to save your money for
sightseeing! You can walk to fantastic attractions like Kensington Palace, the
Portobello Road Market and Hyde Park, and use the cheap tube network to explore
the rest. You get a simple continental breakfast, as well as access to a shared
kitchen, so you don’t even need to worry about affording to eat out! When you
want to relax you can use the internet station or hang out with likeminded
backpackers in the TV lounge.

A Typical Dormitory at Hyde Park Inn
 |
 |
As Hyde Park Inn is such a cheap London hostel in the middle of Central London,
you won’t be surprised by the fact that the dormitory rooms (that sleep between
4-18 people in single beds) are quite basic. As you’ll be spending most of your
time out and about all you need is somewhere to sleep anyway! The shared
bathrooms here do get quite busy at peak times, but if you make sure you get up
early you will beat the rush and be able to make the most of your time in this
amazing location! |

The great thing about Hyde Park Inn is its location, on the verge of huge Hyde
Park and Kensington Gardens in cosmopolitan Bayswater. You’ll also find plenty
of bars and shops on nearby Queensway and Westbourne Road to keep you
entertained. Just a bit further afield is the colourful Portobello Road Market
where you can haggle for fantastic bargains with the stallholders. You can use
nearby Bayswater Tube Station to explore the rest of London. Paddington Train
Station is a short walk away too! |

I'm sorry to have to say that I did not at all enjoy my six-night stay in a 10 bed dorm at your hostel. Of course one doesn't expect too much for such an affordable price, but I do at least expect common European hygienic standards. That certainly includes not being run down by cockroaches in the shower and definitely have soap dispensers and dustbins in all toilets and washrooms. The last time I had to kill a cockroach was in a Guatemalan hostel - but there of course they don't take you by surprise! I understand that you try and have to make the best possible profit out of your hostel but instead of having aesthetic repairs done (like repainting the staircase) that money would be better invested in sanitary (the bathroom facilities are not quite what you would call inviting!) and greasing screeching doors (can be very disturbing at night!). Your staff though were indeed very nice and caring. With kind regards, Cornelia.

Excellent place since it is just a stone's throw away from the Bayswater tube station. Best value for money for backpackers, lots of free tourist info, cleanliness is okay... if you like luxury then book a hotel not a hostel since this hostel has very basic amenities

It was okay. Good location but too many people - you'll have to look after your belongings! Room cards don't work sometimes! Kitchen closes after breakfast which I hated!

Tiny and dirty dorms; filthy toilets and showers, just another rubbish hostel in London.

This hostel is a very bad one, maybe the worst hostel in the UK.I can't believe why it is recommended by Lonely Planet travel book. The rooms are very small and full of disgusting smell. The kitchen is in the basement and very small. Everyone has to eat on the corridor. The worst thing is the attitude of reception. They arranged my friend and me in the different rooms and allocated us in the five bedded rooms but we booked the four bedded rooms online. After arguing with a rude guy in the reception, we finally changed into a four bedded room. However, all this happened after we wanted to move to another nice hostel nearby...... I will never live in this awful hostel again and will warn all my friends about this terrible place
