Excellent position and particularly friendly reception who were very helpful with information re Durham. Rooms were very clean and provided all we needed. However there was only an hour for breakfast which was limiting and check out at 10.00 am at the latest was reminiscent of the old days

The accommodation was fine, though the room could have done with a vacuum. Good value for money

Having stayed in student halls accomodation before, I was pleasantly surprised at how modern and clean St Aidan's College was in comparison with other places. There was ample parking and the toiletries pack and tea/coffee pack was a nice touch. The fridge came in useful too! I was attending a wedding reception at a nearby college in Durham and staying at the college made a handy alternative to taking a taxi home as it cost about the same. It was an added bonus to get a nice cooked breakfast! I would recommend St Aidan's to someone looking for a budget place to stay for a night or two in summertime. My only complaint is that the room was very warm and I would have welcomed a fan

We enjoyed out stay. Particular praise for the restaurant - staff really nice and food excellent. Only one small complaint - mattresses were dire - very lumpy indeed! Poor students sleeping on them every night.

Rooms were clean, comfortable and very quiet. Location ideal for walking into Durham and leaving the car behind.
Breakfast was particularly good with a good choice of cereal and an excellent hot cooked breakfast. Staff were helpful when any query was made.

Excellent accommodation in spotlessly clean rooms, abundant breakfast of solid quality and quantity. Beautiful surroundings, easy access to city centre. What more could a person want?

Incredibly welcoming and friendly. The actual double room is quite basic, but good value, clean and with easy access to a kitchen and the showers. No TV, but the porter on duty tracked one down for us to watch (in the college library). The definite highlight is the lavish breakfast, served with great Geordie goodwill. The kitchen staff are very concerned that you eat your money's worth! I would stay there again, certainly
