Glendale Hyde Park Hotel offers really basic accommodation in a Victorian building. Just a short stroll from Hyde Park, centrally located Glendale Hyde Park Hotel is close to four underground stations – Bayswater, Queensway, Lancaster Gate and Paddington (which also connects you with Heathrow Airport in a 15 minute train journey). The guestrooms may be tired and on the small size but as the hotel has a central location you'll be spending most of your time out and about exploring the local area!

Good and friendly family hotel in an ancient typical English house in Paddington. Very well located, close to the underground station and in a nice area. Friendly staff. Quiet, clean rooms. However, I had to carry my heavy luggage to my room (4th floor, no lift). The wifi advertised does not really work (very slow and hard to catch)

It's quite difficult to rate our stay because there was a power-cut overnight so we had no heating or light - not the hotel's fault, yet they failed to tell us the problem when we returned from our night out. Overall the hotel was fine and the room clean. Breakfast was adequate: tea, coffee, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, bread, jam and butter, and cheese. However, the lady at reception was very rude to us on arrival - it wasn't the welcome one would expect and no-one deserves to be talked down to! I think there are better budget hotels in London and I shall look for another next time

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Room had no window so all air was processed by the A/C / Heater unit. Walls were very thin so you could hear EVERYTHING from the room next door. Connecting door to the next room allowed light through and was distracting when trying to get to sleep. Tea and coffee supplies not automatically replenished, had to ask at reception every day. OK if you just sleep in your room but if you had to spend any time watching TV or reading a book not very good. Room was in the basement so mobile phone reception was poor

Stayed for four nights. Rooms were nice, clean and tidy, with a comfortable double bed. Good value for money. Would use it again and recommend

It was okay for the money. However, could improve on small things. Window was difficult to close or open as the bed's headboard was in a way. Breakfast room is too small - when I went to get my breakfast, the room was full. I tried twice and then just gave up and had just an instant coffee in my room
