Good points: Staff were friendly. Bad points: The room was dark - three lights out of four were dead. Poor cleanliness - wasn't sure that the linen had been changed. Poor shower - the water pressure was a joke. I tried to appreciate I had hot water at least. Bad security - One man came into our female room in the middle of night. He might have been half asleep, but it was just uncomfortable. Bad organization - the living room was occupied by people sleeping on the floor and sofas blocking the route to get to the entrance to the room I stayed. In the morning, I was obliged to make 10 times more effort to get through the room with heavy luggage trying not to tread on or not to put my luggage on those people

Rather run down, hostel keeper did not really know we were arriving, insisted of being shown the receipt, loud noise in the night the Glasgow YHI youth hostel is much better an cleaner (nearly same price)

I felt that for the short time I stayed there it was good value for money. However, I was a bit put out with having to move rooms at short notice on the Saturday night. For a short stay however it is a good place to stay as it is quite quiet and one can relax in the big lounge area.

Well Glasgow Backpackers was the first place in our trip around the UK that you didnt need to wear a parka inside, showers were also toasty hot and never ran cold. We enjoyed our time here so much we rebooked and returned. The warmth and comfort and the staff were great. Thanks guys! I loved the free whisky tasting session and know{ken?} my malt from my blend 'my highlands from my islands...' just like you said! I wiill tell all my friends book Glasgow Backpackers when they get to Scotland.

Two minutes from our language school this was real comfortable and had the added advantage of free internet access as well as wifi connections in the cafe as well as the large commonroom. Every bunk had a large locker, you need your own padlock and there is additional store rooms for larger items. In terms of comfort, location and facilities I thought we were extremely well catered for and the staff knew their city including the student pubs for whatever night you want to go out.

I rate this hostel with 1/10 because there wasn't 0/10. Some friends and me spent three days in this hostel and it was awful. I don't recommend it at all. The rooms are so dirty and beds have got bedbugs as well. Besides, the rooms are not cleaned up when guests leave them for the next ones. Not Recommended. If you choose this hostel, you will pay 13 or 14 for a room that worth 2 or less.

The whole hostel needs looking after much better, the mattresses are old and I slept in-between springs, I was woken throughout the night by drunk men walking into the room and trying to talk to the women. The showers are really horrible and the kitchen is old and falling apart, it's such a shame because the building is fundamentally beautiful and a prime position. Also the reception stank of smoke, I thought that was banned now? I couldn't wait to get out of there the next day.
