Very spartiate, very squeaky butcomfortable bunkbeds, shared showers that could be a bit cleaner. But cheap and with very easy connections with the whole city

Location is excellent as everything/where is accessible. Staff were really friendly and did their best to accommodate. Rooms were 'cosy' in size and cold. I guess this is just due to the bad weather for March. The people staying there were ALL Italian. The staff were Italian. Everyone was Italian!! This wasn't a problem, but it would have been nice to meet some new people who could speak English or at least willing to talk to you. Apart from that, it's a cheap and charming place to stay

Two of us shared a room in Hostel 170, which was very basic, but clean, quiet, on the top floor, where we where. We found the staff helpful, and the other guests , who we met in the kitchen, friendly. We hope to stay in the same place, when we are next in London. The rating I have chosen is for the price and excellent location

Hostel 170 is good value for money. There are no major attractions but I slept through the night after a day of walking around London. It's okay

Ok, room was very hot. Didn't like using shower, toilet ok. For two days budget where you only go there to sleep, twin is ok

Plus: Near King's Cross / St. Pancras Station Plus: Near decent shops and restaurants Plus: They had friendly service Minus: It's hard to find if you don't remember the house number Minus: Squeaky beds Minus: They had old, uncomfortable mattresses Minus: It's not very clean Minus: Half of the showers and toilets were freezing. We also had to change rooms in the middle of our stay (we booked twin room, got a room for 4 and were later asked to move to a smaller room). The first room was awful; it was very cold, had no heaters (not much warmer than outside, maybe +13 degrees), so we had to ask for a heater which improved the situation a bit, but the room temperature was still approximately only +18 degrees. We had a fridge but its wire was so short that it was impossible to use (the only wall plugs were behind one of the beds). The second room was warmer and much better in every respect, although the sink wasn't working. Please note that I'm used to staying at cheap hostels, so I'm not complaining about that. Susan Lawrence Hostel is sufficient accommodation for those who need a bed for night, but I wouldn't spend any extra time in there.

The room at Hostel 170 was little and dirty. The receptionist wasn't polite, and when I asked him to help me, he didn't do it. Horrible.

My stay at Hostel 170 was okay - the room was clean apart from a blocked sink. The bed sheets were thin, there was no toliet paper in either toilet on my level. The staff were friendly
