Hostel 639 ReviewsBased on 310 Hotel Reviews
At first I was terrified of the people, as there seemed to be so many and all types, as time moved on they seemed kind and I was sad to leave. It doesn't look like a five star London hotel when you first walk in, but the staff do their job well, it's quiet at night, no noise came from the hallway and no one bothered me
We got a private room for 4 and shower at Hostel 639 (we were 3). Breakfast is cheap and good. Only less water flowed
Rooms at Hostel 639 was fine clean, tidy and affordable price. Only inconvenient is kitchen is locked from midnight until 10am unable to make our own breakfast choice. At least reasonable time to open kitchen is 8am should not be at 10am
I stayed at the Hostel 639 for three weeks and while it was annoying that I was moved from one room to another after four days, it was a pleasant stay still. The mattresses are quite bad so you better not have a bad back, and the wifi doesn't work quite often, but the bathrooms were usually clean and I've also been lucky to have nice roommates. You can use kitchen and the laundry room (4gbp for the laundry) which is quite useful, but there is not a lot of space in your room so unpacking in a dorm room isn't really a possibility. Still, if you only need a place to sleep while you enjoy London (situated in zone 2 you can get to Oxford Circus in about 20 minutes) then this hostel is a cheap and decent option
Everything is good at Hostel 639. Improvement should be on dealing with customers especially security guards. Even my roommates who shared room with me had such experience. Also after tiring journey wouldn't expect to have exact change to pay through cash. They ned to first arrange a room rather than keeping customer waited in queue. Preference should be be given to new customers. Shortage of tissue papers in bathroom. My bed is on top of other bed, need to climb up the ladder facing and in contact with wall. Need to put a plug point on top for a person to access electricity
