Heathrow Lodge is a great place to stay for layovers and if you need to catch an early flight and don't want to hassle with staying in central London. Since it is close to the airport, it is rather loud due to planes landing and taking off. The lodge is very clean overall and comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful, there are 2 pubs nearby, and you can get food delivered to your room from nearby restaurants (which I did). When you call for the shuttle from the airport, be sure to ask what car or van is picking you up (preferably ask for the license plate number) because the area you will be picked up at is rather crowded with other cars and can be very confusing looking for your shuttle. Don't forget that the shuttle does pick you up from Terminal 1

Very basic, but that was reflected in the price. There was a dreadful smell in the room and it seemed to come from the bed. The door to the yard had been left unlocked. The man on reception tried to overcharge me and I had to insist on the right price, showing him the confirmation email in which the amount had been clearly marked. The staff struggled to understand what I asked them, and I shudder to think how a foreign guest would have managed to understand and make himself understood. Would not recommend to anyone

The room was clean and small. We could hear many airplanes from Heathrow airport. The Hotel was NOT soundproofed. Bus transfer was very close to the hotel
