Having looked last minute for a place to stay over the bank holiday weekend, we decided on the Forest Gate Hotel to avoid excessive costs on our weekend break. The rooms and the facilities were clean and tidy with good friendly staff. Only a ten minute walk from public transport and 1 hour from city centre, well situated too. Not only would I recommend it, I am looking to book again in the near future.

We stayed there for three nights, on the top floor. We did not hear any music from the pub or anything like that. The people that worked there were really nice, the breakfast was good, and I'd probably stay there again.

I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. I was also greeted by the landlord. For this I would award full marks. Two things of note, however, the lady who completed my booking on arrival was rather abrupt (maybe fatigue) and the fact that a man of 68 (me) was made to make his way up to the attic room unaided.

On arrival, there were students hanging out from the windows smoking and sitting on the window ledge. At nights some youngsters playing cricket on main road, making a hell of a noise.
