Very friendly people. Unusual decor. Self service breakfast more than adequate. Beds not very comfortable. No real TV room as twinned with bar.

Caledonian Backpackers - A Popular Edinburgh Hostel

Attractions
Caledonian Backpackers is just between the Old Town and the New Town of Edinburgh, which is where most of the historical and cultural points of interest are. You can see Edinburgh Castle from the windows of the hostel. Old Town itself has a range of pubs, clubs, and restaurants to suit any taste and budget. You’ll also find the Scottish Parliament and the Museum of Scotland here.

- By Plane:
- Caledonian Backpackers is only 25 minutes from Edinburgh Airport; just take the shuttle bus that will drop you onto Shandwick Place.
- By Train:
- Get a train to Waverley train station or Haymarket train station and follow the on foot directions below.
- On Foot:

From Waverley train station exit via the stairs onto Princes Street and turn
left. Walk along this street for about ten minutes until the road becomes
Shandwick Place. You’ll see the Caledonian Backpackers on your right.
From Haymarket train station exit onto West Maitland Street and turn right. Walk for five minutes and you will reach Shandwick Place, where you’ll see Caledonian Backpackers on your left.
