We were very shocked to discover that we were expected to share room with 6 males. I expressed my dismay about this. When we were shown the room, the person at reception merely said we will be sharing with scholars and their teacher. We assumed it was females. I was still charged for the night, times 2 persons, even though I went to look for suitable accommodation for the Saturday night. The Sunday however, we spent at Brodies, since we had the room to ourselves, my sister and I. I found it upsetting that the person at reception recommended another place of stay, yet was not prepared to give a refund. I wish that the institutions could be more specific. r.e. gender of allocation to dorms. If i had to come with a mixed party of my own accord, the arrangement would have suited me, but it posed a problem when it came to mixed gender, with all strangers. Next time I will not pay for any rooms until i am very clear about the set-up. Thanking you.
