Astoria Hotel London was ok for the money we paid, staff was very friendly and helpful

Astoria Hotel London is in a great location, as it's only 5 minutes walk to Paddington train station. A Fawlty Towers type experience - our room was at the very top of the building, so we climbed 5 flights of narrow stairs with luggage. The room was incredibly hot as the heating was controlled centrally and we slept with the windows of both the bathroom and the bedroom wide open, despite subzero temperatures outside! However, for a cheap hotel base, for the price being charged, and as we were out all day, it was adequate.

The Astoria Hotel is in a good, central location, within walking distance of Oxford Street and other major shopping streets in central London. Friendly staff who are very helpful. The room was clean and tidy.

Astoria Hotel London is really close to Paddington Station, making it super handy for us coming from West of London. Staff were very attentive and helpful, reception let us check in at midday, asked if we were okay with a room on the 2nd floor (no lift), and housekeeping even helped us carry our bags up the stairs! Room was a comfortable twin, about the size and quality you can expect for such a great price. But clean and adequate for our needs, no complaints. Would stay here again, and probably will... next time we come in to London
