Great value for money. In a room with a balcony which was great considering my boyfriend is a smoker. 24 Hour Tesco just over road, friendly, staff, nice size room.

Great value, clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Bit too warm and couldn't turn radiator off.

It was really like a scene from a movie, the kind where some ex-prisoner loses hope in a hideous motel room and kills themselves with the handy shards of glass tabletop left out for them... which we genuinely had. The bedroom and the bathroom both offered splinters and shards of broken glass, the toilet didn't stop flushing until I took the lid off the cistern and fished around inside to stop the flow, then we had to leave the lid off to make it work. The window didn't shut, which meant that, as we faced onto a busy central London street, there was no peace. The guy who checked us in didn't tell us much, most particularly that there was a separate key for the main door, which would be locked at night, so of course we found this out on our return, when we couldn't get back in. It's neither a hostel nor a hotel, more dingy hotel rooms filled with broken furniture, plus a sink and a microwave in a formica cupboard. I only took it as I booked so late.

These studios have just been renovated. We had the top floor, lots of narrow stairs, a big hike. The room is large, the shower is pathetic, the carpet was old, the blankets were old but the room was very clean and the reception staff were excellent and accommodating to our needs.

No lift - if you have heavy luggage you are out of luck. The room had a double and a twin bed. The double was a miserable pile of springs covered by material. The twin was newer and very comfortable. Lights are only available if the key card is in a special slot. The neighbourhood is "iffy". The staff not very helpful. Great big tub (good) with no plug (not so good). Toilet had a bizarre flush that only worked after you reset it each time (it was a plastic button on top of the tank). They did have a TV, and a cupboard kitchen with toaster/fridge/microwave/sink that was nice. I would not recommend this facility
