I enjoyed my stay at Sacred Heart Lodge. Can't complain about free breakfast - but toaster tended to burn the toast - ha! Nice, quiet and easier to get into central London than I feared at first. It's in Zone 2 so not far away from central area. London's amazing to me as American. Like walking around in 1700s with all the magnificent huge, old buildings from those years!! With Olympics coming to town, really exciting now

Friendly and helpful staff, rooms are small but good enough for one night, decor could do with refurbishment. TV in room

Warm and friendly staff on arrival. Rooms clean would benefit from tea/coffee making facility. Beds spotless and the most comfortable I've slept in. Liked the shared lounge/dining room and help yourself breakfast. Well equipped kitchen area. This was a great place to meet people of all nationalities. All in all a positive experience and great value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family and would stay at Sacred Heart Lodge again

If you're on a low budget, Sacred Heart Lodge is a good deal. Very clean and although bathroom facilities were shared, there were no problems. Breakfast time was very communal, but everyone we met were very friendly. A quiet area, so only choose if not wanting a beer afterwards. I stayed in Bethnal Green the following day and much more livelier, but if you want a reasonable night's sleep with no frills, then can't fault this place

The hotel was excellent value for money for a London hotel. I was impressed that they had free wifi and a free serve yourself breakfast. Rooms are basic and I had a shared bathroom, but this was very clean so was ok for a short trip

Very friendly and accommodating staff at Sacred Heart Lodge. Showed straight to room as soon as we arrived. Room was very clean, nice big comfy bed, TV, wash sink and cupboard for clothes in room also. Nice clean bathroom with shower. For the low price in London this accommodation was first class

Rooms are a good size and come equipped with sink and TV. The staff are friendly and there are plenty of bathrooms. The architecture of the building is beautiful and they have a lounge with some pool tables. It's a bargain for the price! The only thing that lets it down is that Homerton isn't the nicest or most beautiful part of London, or even Hackney, but it does have character

After travelling 40 minutes on public transport from Central London to Homerton train station, we realised this hotel wasn't as close to Central London as we thought. After a short 3minute walk from Homerton train station to the hotel, we saw that the hotel itself wasn't actually as bad as we thought it'd be. In fact, the rooms went beyond original expectation. We had a big clean room, a big comfy bed, a desk, a TV, a heater, a wardrobe and our own personal sink with a mirror. The shared bathroom was also really big and clean. The hot water in the shower didn't seem to last for very long though and the water pressure was quite weak. After staying at The Sacred Heart Lodge for a couple of nights, we realised that the area actually wasn't as dangerous as we first thought when we arrived. It was actually really safe. The only down fall for this hotel was that we ended up spending a lot of time and money travelling to and from the hotel and central London, although we did discover it was quicker to take a 30min bus that runs 24hrs from the hotel to Liverpool Street Station on the second last day. I would stay at this hotel again if affordable centralised accommodation isn't available

Nice hotel, spacious and affordable, with clean toilet and with plenty of hot water. Just no microwave to warm our food
