The Dictionary Shoreditch is fantastic value for the cost per night. As a first time backpacker they made my stay easy - the 24hr front desk service was great when I had random questions. And getting 20 per cent off at the next door coffee shop and bar was dangerously convenient. Clean rooms and bathrooms, hot water, and free locker storage (just bring your own lock) was perfectly fine. The location is surrounded by bars, restaurants, grocery, and transit. Don't expect the Ritz Hotel but you're getting much more than just a bed with questionable sheets. Definitely worth a stay

Like with every hostel, the risk in quality is the other people staying there. I was impressed with the Dictionary. Very clean despite lots of young international travellers, very good tariff, beds a bit small (I am nearly two metre tall), great café and super location. Felt very German with all the recycling hahaha! I would recommend this hostel for anyone in London on a budget because it is not an uncomfortable hostel. It is a very nice time. I will book again

Yes, well I've stayed in a few places around London. B 7 bs hostels and even the Hilton once. Some are good and some are rank. But The Dictionary Shoreditch is above the rest of the London hostels. Its location for me is No 1. Took me 40 years, but I've made it to the city on my own. Nice place, nice people, will stay there again. I will be looking to move to Shoreditch, but will use the adjoining bars, Translate and I think after the large Jamesons Catch 22
