We stayed five nights in July. Reading in advance all the bad comments about the hostel, we decided to take some precautions. We had ear plugs, slippers and eye patches, so had no trouble with noise, nor with light and neither with water in the showers. Northfields Hostel London was next to the tube line Piccadilly (always very crowded), which was ok if you wanted quick transport to the city. The hostel was cheap. All in all ok

I stayed at the Northfields Hostel London in December. I really enjoyed my stay very helpful staff and a very clean property. If I visit London again I would definitely stay there again

You get what you pay they say and that's exactly what you can expect from this London hostel. Great price but windows are not double-glazed (at least the ones in the room I was staying weren't), showers are in the basement and were a nightmare to use the first time and don't count on using lockers although they are present. On the other side, perfect and safe location as well as friendly staff. Oh, and there was a noise from the tube which I knew from the previous reviews. It's not unbearable and some ear plugs should do the trick. I would really like to see at least one shower in every floor. They were renovating something in the 2nd floor and it seemed like a bathroom. Other than that, everything was great.  Staff did a good job with cleaning, however, a couple of smoking detectors in there would be nice (and would probably prevent people from smoking)
