Mardon Hall

Whether you want to explore Exeter alone or with a friend, Mardon Hall on the University of Exeter Streatham Campus offers you the basic and affordable room you need. The single and twin rooms here share bathrooms with other people staying (but that won’t be students of the university as they will have gone home on holiday). You’ll get a bed, desk and wardrobe in your room, as well as central heating, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. Some even have internet access!

When you wake up at Mardon Hall breakfast is served next door at Holland Hall Dining Room between 8 and 9am. At other times you can buy meals at Clydesdale House. Your temporary residents pass gives you free access to the swimming pool (July to September) and the outdoor tennis courts. You can use the gym and sports hall too, although charges may apply. Other on campus facilities include payphones, cash machines, vending machines, TV lounge (subject to availability), launderette and supermarket.

Attractions

Mardon Hall is located on the Streatham Campus of the University of Exeter, which has 350 acres of beautiful parks, woodlands and lakes. If you’ve come to explore Exeter city centre, you only have to walk 10 minutes or take a short bus journey to get there. You can spend time at Exeter Cathedral, visit one of the oldest buildings in Devon (21 The Mint), or take time to relax at the historic Quayside. Exeter’s excellent range of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs will also keep you occupied.

Given the cost for a twin room, it represented good value for money. However, I would have preferred to have paid a little more for en-suite facilities.

My room wasn't cleaned / rubbish wasn't emptied during my stay. The signage was not very good for finding toilets, showers, room numbers or exits.
