Location was very good for visiting London. I'm afraid that is about the only positive thing about this hotel it was not even that cheap, the room was basic in need of repair-not the deluxe double we had paid for. Fortunately I had read a review before we went so knew what we were in for. Plenty of hot water and the shower worked though. Staff pleasant.

A comfortable stay, friendly approach by staff eager to please. Standard of accommodation commensurate with price charged. Maybe a little more attention to basic detail would be helpful, i.e. soap holder in shower missing, and electrical plug cracked. Would stay again for value for money.

The hotel was in a very good location only five minutes’ walk from Marble Arch underground station. The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and tidy, overall it was great value for money.

Haa well, what can I say about this place. The good points: It’s cheap, really close to marble arch and others close to the centre (took 7 mins walk to Regent Business centre at Marble Arch). Very friendly staff. Free wireless (always handy), The bad points: Place in bad condition with wall paper falling off everywhere, mould in bathroom, old fashioned decor (although sheets are clean), my window didn’t shut properly, door didn’t shut properly (would only stay closed if locked, even then not very good), 2inch gap at bottom of my door so you can see your neighbours feet when they walk by, Tiny bathroom consisted of mini shower cubicle (small for me and I’m only 5'6'')! NO TOILET, that was shared and under the stairs. The room to be honest (and I’ve ben used to hostels in Eastern Europe as a traveller in my student days) was poor. Oh and although the breakfast is 'passable' make sure your cutlery and glasses are clean. I saw one of the kitchen staff (although pleasant and helpful) drank from a glass and didn’t wash it up, just put it with the other washed glasses, (nasty)! Overall: If you’re a man wanting cheap n cheerful 'digs' for a few days wanting to be close to town and don’t mind 'slumming it' for a bit then it’s ok. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it for couples or single females! It’s not just the 'cleanliness' issue the girls won’t like, it’s the safety issue I'd be concerned about.

A good hotel in an excellent location. Very pleasant staff and nice rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

This so-called "hotel" is an absolute dump. The rooms are filthy and the bedding appears dirty. The room I booked was not available and I was offered another in a nearby "hotel”. This was, if possible, worse and despite booking a room with en-suite, I was offered one with shared bathroom facilities. I would not even let my dog sleep there! Needless to say -at 11pm on a Saturday night in London, I had to look for alternative accommodation.

We booked a triple room and were given the room downstairs next to the dining area. The window was directly opposite to the hotel kitchen windows so it was noisy in the morning. The room was far too small for a triple. There were large damp patches all over the walls; paint was peeling from the ceiling; the shower room was too small to stand up in and was full of mould and smelt awful; the toilet made an awful rumbling noise when flushed; toilet paper was slightly soggy from damp; the shaving light fitting was smashed; the bin was broken and frayed edges from the carpet were a trip hazard. The room was so awful that it warrants a letter of complaint to trading standards and health and safety officials. We overheard other guests complaining about their rooms over breakfast (which was ok but by no means 'continental'). Would definitely not stay here again or recommend this to anyone whose friendship we value.

The staff at Griffin House Hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The double room was very small but clean and tidy. There are notices stating that the hotel is to be refurbished and asking for suggestions. Tea and coffee making facilities were lacking. Overall, you get what you pay for - budget B&B. Good choice of breakfast freshly prepared.

Accommodation is somewhat spartan but adequate. Entrance is a bit cluttered. Front desk staff at Griffin House Hotel were friendly and helpful.

Griffin House Hotel is very good value and convenient if having a quick overnight stay. The room I stayed in was small, but had more facilities than I thought it would have. The bathroom was clean and had a shower which worked fine.Would book Griffin house hotel again for my next visit.
