The word “unique” is thrown about a lot these days, and in honesty, it is rare to find somewhere that is truly unique. The Porterhouse, however, can safely put hand-on-heart and chalk itself up as a truly individual venue (despite the fact that the brewery has similar venues in Ireland). The bar is spread over 12 (yes, 12) different levels, some half-way between others; some with balconies gazing down over others, some tucked up against the vaulted, rivet-studded ceiling. As London’s largest bar (not to mention largest Irish bar) you might expect that there was a decent selection of drinks ready for you to quaff. And you’d be quite correct. There’s also a good(although quite pricey) food menu and a wide range of spirits. The copper piping throughout and feel of being on board a mighty ship will keep you coming back for drink after drink, until it’s probably best to go home!
