A gem of an Edinburgh hotel which needs some TLC

We had a 3 night stay at the very beautiful and affordable Original Raj Hotel. The reception staff very helpful. The room could use some improvements though, with a very creaky bed and a water faucet handle that came off in your hands. Housekeeping was very late in the day and did little else than make the bed. Yet, the hotel is located right on the bus line and close to the beautiful greenbelt on the Waters of Leith, so all in all, I would stay there again

I love the room - Bollywood is excellent!

Very nice hotel, There was a lovely smell from the wood in the rooms, very warm. Breakfast was good. All in all good service and close enough to town and other amusements and it was a very enjoyable stay. I would stay again.

I would rate the hotel at 9, simply because there was no internet, otherwise it would have been 10/10. The place is very nice. Room was very good with TV, phone and bathroom. The lounge was nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and good. I would recommend this hotel to everyone because it is worth the money you spend.

When we arrived at this hotel, the gentleman who checked us in was extremely polite and friendly, and very helpful. The rooms are beautiful (especially the Bollywood room) and very clean. However we had gone out that night, and when we arrived back at the hotel in the early hours the member of staff on duty was most unhelpful, and at breakfast the next day, the same member of staff would not allow my sister to sit at the same table as us when she had finished eating!! He directed her to a seat on her own at the back of the room until we had finished, which we found most bizarre and rather rude. I would recommend a stay here if you are looking for value for money but I would make sure you finish your breakfast at the same time as the others in your party!!

Idea place to stay, the room is very clean, the service is excellent. If someone gonna Edinburgh and needs accommadation, I definitely recommend him/her to go there.

Enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Would stay again.
