Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale

I was given one of the lower-ground floor twin rooms at the Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale in Kilburn High Road. These rooms are perfectly nice but rely entirely on air-conditioning as they have no windows. Unfortunately the aircon was not working, so the night was very uncomfortable. I tried to phone reception for advice but the phone was not working either. To add to the poor impression, the toilet seat was snapped across one side and the flush was not working. I requested a new room for the second night, as I had had no sleep in the over-heated room, but had to check out and return later in order to move rooms. While the new room I was provided was cooler, so much more comfortable, it was also damper as the extractor fan in the bathroom was not working. I have been several times to this hotel and the staff are always lovely, but there always seem to be issues. Last time I booked a double room but got a single room with a double bed in it, so that only one person could walk around the room at a time and the door would not open

Very good price for a 4 star hotel. However, depends very much on the room. Last time I was given a noisy, cold basement room with a toilet that didn't flush properly even though I was supposed to have a window. They did change the room without fuss, however the new room had lots of marks on the wall and bathroom mirror. But it was quiet and with proper heating. So for the price Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale was perfectly fine, but the rooms are very hit and miss
