Run by super successful pub company Metropolitan Pubs, it’s no wonder that the Crabtree is at the top of its game as a gastropub in a stunning location. It’s very large, meaning that you’re unlikely to miss out on a table, and the beer garden runs right the way down to the riverside of the Thames. The pub is aware of its place in West Ken’s history, hosting pre-war photographs of the surrounding area and celebrating its Victorian heritage by bringing attention to the high vaulted ceilings and solid wooden tables. There is also a comedy club for those in need of a laugh, the menu is excellent (though pricey) and the drinks list is extensive. In the summer, this is definitely a venue to bring friends, and as it’s far from the madding crowd, you’re well advised to make a day of it.
