Seen some reviews that absolutely slate this place, for the location the price is not bad and the room I stayed in was tired but everything worked, had its own private shower and toilet tea/coffee making facilities bottle of water and surprisingly a trouser press too. It was clean but tired, left too early for breakfast so can't comment and the 2 guys on reception were very pleasant. I am returning to Fountain House Hotel next week. At this price point in this location I think it is about what you expect and I have stayed in far far worse

If spruced up outside and painted etc,. Fountain House Hotel would give a better first impression. However, we were given a warm welcome and there was plenty of parking space. The property is situated on a quiet road with shops and eateries nearby. The rooms are off a court-yard and could do with re-decoration but perfectly adequate with trouser press and kettle, tea and coffee etc. The bathroom with shower was ample and modern. The breakfast served us by a cheerful lady could not be faulted, full English, plenty and nice coffee. For the price, a good choice

Positives: friendly staff, good breakfast. Negatives: my room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked
