Budget backpackers with good travel links to the city centre. Myself and my niece had a twin room. Above a lively bar, shops close by and good food options locally. Beds/bathrooms clean, friendly staff. Easy check in/out. Microwave and kettle in room with tea coffee facilities. Little shabby but it's luxury compared to hostels! Would book Forest Gate Hotel again, but would probably opt for the en suite next time

Loved the stay, it was so peaceful done my own thing and was not disturbed once. Price was also so cheap on TravelStay however I think drinking water should have been provided.

A basic hotel that was ideal for an unfussy business traveller like me. I kept having to go back for short stays with work, and I didn’t need anything flashy but did want something comfortable and room enough to put a few things, which this provided. There’s always something great about being able to get yourself a couple of pints after a long day and travel a matter of metres to fall into bed. Warm, friendly, lovely staff, good pub. The location isn’t the best but the price is good so that’s a trade-off I was happy to make.

Forest Gate Hotel does what it says on the tin, the pub is beautifully historic gives you a local feel to Forest Gate. Safe location and easy access to transport. Breakfast was entertaining and sufficient for the price. You get what you pay for and it's what we needed so big thanks to the staff, and local punters who were very welcoming
