The Grassmarket Hotel
The Grassmarket Hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is the ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel is located in the heart of Edinburgh, within 15 minutes walk of the Edinburgh International Centre and many of the city’s best attractions. The distinctive design and décor at The Grassmarket Hotel incorporate a traditional Scottish look and some unique twists. At the end of the day you can return to enjoy drinks and food in the Biddy Mulligans bar.
There’s a selection of 45 newly refurbished rooms at The Grassmarket Hotel, including Cosy singles, Comfy twin and doubles, and Comfy Plus triple and quad rooms. All of the rooms come with ensuite facilities that include a rainfall style shower. You’ll be able to hook up your iPod to the docking station and lie on your bed to channel surf on your large flat screen TV. You’ll also have WiFi in your room and on top of everything the rooms have a magnetic wall map to help show you around the city.

Grassmarket itself is renowned for the lively pubs and clubs that occupy the street so you won’t have to travel far for nightlife if you stay at The Grassmarket Hotel. As the hotel is situated in the Old Town of Edinburgh you will find plenty of souvenir shops close by. You should also take a walk along the Royal Mile, which is dominated by Edinburgh Castle at one end and Holyrood House at the other. You can relax and unwind in Holyrood Park before heading back to The Grassmarket Hotel.

The closest train station to The Grassmarket Hotel is Waverley train station. Once you arrive, follow the simple by foot directions below
- On Foot
Take the main exit from Waverly train station onto Waverley Bridge and turn to your left. At the end of the bridge cross the road and go straight ahead up Cockburn Street. At the end of this street cross over the road and walk down Hunters Square. This will lead you directly onto Blair Street and at the end of this street you need to turn right into Cowgate. Keep walking straight on and this will lead you onto Grassmarket. The Grassmarket Hotel is the on your right.

I love Edinburgh and the Grassmarket! I loved the bar downstairs and I will definitely be back ;-) I found the hotel perfect, probably best not to stay here if you don't like noise, but you should research before you book!
Central but too noisy. Check-in was fast, staff at reception friendly, I think it's basic but okay (if bit over-priced if you ask me)
Grassmarket Hotel was good, there's a bar downstairs so this can probably be a bit noisy (I was out at nights so I did not notice anyway!). It was clean and everybody working there was very friendly. I'm happy with my stay and I think I will stay here again next time even
I enjoyed my stay, the reception people could smile a little more, great location, fair place, clean, lovely city, I will stay again at the Grassmarket Hotel when visiting Edinburgh.
