The Cranbrook Hotel Reviews: 4.0

Best thing with this hotel is the location and price. It's near Ilford centre with many services. Gants Hill underground is also nearby, taking you straight to London centre. However, this station is not so near the hotel after all, you need to take a bus there. Train from Ilford centre is an option. A nice park is located near the hotel in case you need to relax. But the room itself was very poor and very small. Misery. Don't choose a single room please. Choose a room with a Jacuzzi or whatever and pay a bit more to save some nerves.

This has to be the worst experience one can have as a visitor to London. The run down exterior is nothing like the photograph. The entrance gloomy and shabby. The beds were not made up even though it was after 7 in the evening. No towels were in sight. The bathroom tiles were cracked and filled with black fungus. There was rust on the shower doors. The taps on the basin were both broken. I have seldom seen such a gross exaggeration of facilities and conditions on the internet. How this hotel can boast 3 stars (if indeed the stars are real) is an absolute mystery to me. The receptionist was unfriendly and offhanded and clearly knew that we could not possibly stay there. He made no attempt to assist us in any way with a rebooking nor made any apology for the state of the room and bathroom. I never wish to cross the threshold of such a hotel again. Travelstay should be ashamed to host them on this website!

Run down hotel. Receptionist unfriendly. Was expecting something better.

I had just one night in this Hotel, but I was pleased and it was a very very nice night. Although I wouldn’t recommend it for long stay holiday or a people who require a high standard....for youngsters it is a great place to stay.

What a Fantastic Hotel to stay at. The value was great, my room was clean and well priced you also get a cooked breakfast included in the price. Very easy to get to from The Cranbrook Hotel to the station and the staff were very friendly. A must for all wanting good value.
