Quaint and cosy accommodation with great, friendly service. The breakfast menu is pretty good too. Great value for money, an overall A+

My stay at Collingwood College was a mix of positive and negative experiences.

Positive: Nice location in the middle of a woods, comfortable and nicely sized room, reasonable price, and generous breakfast.

Negative: Heating only turned on twice each day; lack of knowledge of internet system at front desk, which actually told me there was not internet in my room when there was

Collingwood College does what it says on the can. It's a reasonable price for reasonable accommodation plus a solid breakfast.

The rooms are OK for student accommodation: good shower, comfy bed and perhaps slightly knocked about decor.

I wish the room had WiFi - you can only access this in reception.

The bar isn't open out of term time so you have to venture out and the nearest place is the New Inn on Stockton Road which is quite good. If you want to go into town, a taxi is only £5

The good, firm bed with an excellent pillow was just what I ndeed and I had a very good nights sleep. The breakfast was also great with a wide choice for all

Collingwood College was a well equipped, well laid out set of halls with friendly staff and great facilities against a picturesque backdrop. Thank you

Nice welcoming students' residence. Close to the university. A 15 minutes walk from the cathedral and city center. Affordable and comfortable (however carpets should be changed). The pub in the basement is also very enjoyable

Basic but comfortable student room turned hotel. Had problems getting decent temperature out of the shower and room opposite the communal toilet was a little noisy but otherwise everything worked fine. Cheap, cheerful and exactly what I was after for a trouble-free stay in Durham Would definitely stay again.
