  • Corfe Tower, on the South Acton Estate, is the block of flats seen in the opening credits of ‘Only Fools and Horses’.

  • The first Waitrose store was in Acton. Originally called ‘Waite, Rose and Taylor’, it opened in 1904 at 263 Acton Hill, commemorated today by a metal plaque on the pavement outside.

  • Scenes from the 1986 film ‘Aliens’ and the 1989 film ‘Batman’, were shot inside the disused Acton Power Station.
