Argyle Backpackers Hostel gives you the chance to escape the tourist traps of Central Edinburgh, but still be within easy walking distance of places like Edinburgh Castle. Situated on a tranquil street close to The Meadows, south of the city centre, this hostel has a good balance of private double or twin rooms, and dorm rooms (including female only dormitories) which sleep 4-10 people. You’ll benefit from 24 hour hostel access, 15 minutes free internet access and cheap WiFi if you stay here.

 Whatever room you opt for at Argyle Backpackers Hostel, it will be centrally heated and clean, with bed linen and towels provided. Most rooms have TV’s, but you will have to share the hot showers. When you fancy exploring Central Edinburgh from Argyle Backpackers Hostel take a walk through The Meadows to visit the Museum of Scotland, the Royal Museum of Scotland and Greyfriars Kirk. Afterwards walk across George IV Bridge to get to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. If it’s nightlife you’re after head to Grassmarket, which used to be one of Edinburgh’s execution venues, but is now filled with lively pubs like the White Hart Inn where Robert Burns supposedly wrote Ae Fond Kiss.

• By Train : To get to Argyle Backpackers Hostel on the train you should travel to Waverley Train Station in Central Edinburgh.
• By Bus : Once you arrive at Waverley Train Station you should exit onto Waverley Bridge. Turn right and walk to Princes Street. Turn left onto Princes Street and the turn left again onto The Mound. The number 41 bus from here will take you to Warrender Park Road which is really close to Argyle Backpackers Hostel.
• On Foot : Once you get off at Warrender Park Road you should look out for the Argyle pub. Argyle Place, where Argyle Backpackers Hostel is situated, is opposite this pub.
