Smithy Andrews Prestwick combines a village location in picturesque Monkton with close proximity to Glasgow’s Prestwick Airport, just a three minute taxi journey away. Formerly a blacksmith’s forge and stable in the eighteenth-century, the buildings have been converted into a bed and breakfast. The historic city of Glasgow is also within an easy car journey, and the hostel is easily accessible by car as it’s located just off the A77 motorway. There are lots of areas to which you can drive during your stay, including Scotland’s beautiful West Coast – you could visit Arran and the Mull of Kintyre, or charming seaside villages such as Ayr, Troon and Prestwick.

My partner and I loved this place. We originally booked it as it was close to the airport. However, if we come back, we'll seriously consider making this place our base for our holiday. The bed was so incredibly comfortable! The room felt very personal, like it really belonged to someone; unlike a generic hotel room. Very comfortable and warm. Took a bit of fiddling to work out the shower, but got it in the end
