 Ashdown House offers clean and tidy single rooms on corridors. You will have your own wash hand basin in your room, but you will have to share toilets and bathrooms with other people staying here. There’s no need to worry about how you are going to afford to eat, as Ashdown House has well equipped self catering kitchens for you to use. You can rustle up meals using the cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, and kettle. There is also a coin operated laundry room on site, as well as payphones.

As Ashdown House is so close to the A27 and A23, this is an ideal location from which to explore the whole of Sussex. Whilst staying at Ashdown House it’s well worth visiting Harvey’s Brewery in nearby Lewes, or some of the attractive surrounding villages. Brighton itself is approximately 4 miles from Ashdown House. Here you can walk along the seafront, visit Brighton Pier, or shop till you drop in The Laines. In the evenings you should go to the Dome Theatre or the Komedia comedy club.

There is plenty of free parking available at Ashdown House. There is no need to bring bed linen and towels as these are provided and changed once a week if you are staying long term. The communal areas are also cleaned once a week. Ashdown House is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

• By Train : Catch a train to Brighton Train Station. Take a taxi from here, or catch a bus from the city centre to get to Ashdown House.
• By Car : From the A23, get onto the A27 Eastbound towards Lewes. Turn off at the junction signposted Hollingbury Industrial Estate and at the mini roundabout take your first exit, signposted Coldean and Ditchling. This is Coldean Lane and you will find Ashdown House on your left as you drive along this road. It is part of Varley Halls.
• By Bus : From Brighton city centre, catch the number 24 bus to Coldean. Get off at the Ingham Drive / Hawkhurst Road stop, which is approximately five minutes walk from Ashdown House.
