We stayed there for 3 nights. We didn't sleep too well because we could hear pipes running during the night. One of the beds was not very comfortable. There wasn't any hot water so taking a shower was out of the question. Although the location was excellent, there are tons of other accommodations available in the same area that should be checked out first.

They didn't have hot water for showers on every floor. I tried to ask for their help, they ignored and told me they can't do anything. People who lived in there said the boiler is often broken. I am not satisfied with their poor service. I paid for the hotel and supposed hot water for shower is a basic need but I should not be treated like this. If you want to stay in Melville Hotel please think carefully.

It was the first time we stayed in a hotel where the shower and toilet were out of the room. Although it was written in the website it was very uncomfortable. Especially the cleanness of the toilet was bad. On the other hand we had to go up to the 3rd floor on a narrow staircase (no elevator). The room was clean enough with comfortable beds and a nice view to the little park opposite. Staff were ok.

Extremely basic but clean. Breakfast could have been better, never had processed cheese slices for breakfast before! Also not always seats free in dining room so would have to go back to room and wait! Otherwise OK.

The hotel is very basic as in the advert. I had no bad experience except that the shower was not always hot. I liked the location as it is close to almost everything.

Melville Hotel is a very basic hotel, although clean and tidy. Staff are helpful and friendly. Fire extinguishers should not be used to prop open fire doors! Breakfast is cereal, juice, fruit and toast and coffee and a for a cental London location the room price is not too bad. Overall its good value for the quality and location.

Melville Hotel was cheap and clean.
Had to ask for a kettle. Fridge in room a real plus.
Hair dryer and powerpoint didn't work though. Not great customer service. Overall it was OK for the money.

The hotel was in a great location, about a minute and a half walk from King's Cross/St. Pancras Station with access to nearly all lines in London. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good. I reccommend The Melville! Breakfast

A friend and I stayed at the Melville Hotel in London for 3 nights in april 2007. The room was fine, the sheets were clean and we had fresh towels. The breakfast was across the street and the breakfast was great (serial, juice, coffee etc.) We had some great days in London and will recommend Melville Hotel to everyone else who´s looking for an affordable place to stay.

The Melville Hotel really is budget. The bathrooms are all shared, the conditions of the rooms are extremely basic, the shared kitchen was not the best and there is no breakfast included. Lots of much much better places to stay for only a few pounds more on the travelstay site, I agree - book something else!

The staff were not kind, and the manager's attitude wasnt any better. There are much better value places to stay - I would reccommend booking something else!

Nice stay at Melville Hotel. Also found that the use of the kitchen and having a fridge in the room excellent.

I have booked the Melville Hotel for my mother and sister on TravelStay and they liked everything about this place. Great location, close to transport and quiet at the same time, lovely pub just around the corner, nice staff and good breakfast. Yes, the rooms at Melville Hotel were small but they were lucky enough to get upgraded to a triple room for no extra price so there was more space for their luggage..
I will definitely book the Melville Hotel again, Thanks!

It's a well located hotel, near the train stations that fit my needs.
If you are looking for an affordable hotel, I would reccommend booking this one.

We stayed for a total of 6 nights in the early and mid of July. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and pleasant. The bedrooms were rather small but very well appointed and comfortable. More importantly, the price is reasonably cheap. We would certainly recommend and stay again.
