On moving over to London, I spent my first night at the Hour Glass Hotel because the location was near to my new job. On arrival I was met by very friendly staff, even though I was accidentally there much before check in time, I was allowed into the hotel and caught up on some emails in the kitchen. Kitchen facilities include all essentials; oven microwave, washing machine etc. and very clean too. Bedroom was ideal, again clean, comfortable, well equipped. Pub downstairs seemed cosy, although I didn't stay for drinks the customers who were in there seemed very friendly and welcoming. The pizza that was being served looked great. I was allowed to leave my huge luggage in the hotel until after work and really appreciated this. It seemed nothing was too much of a problem for the kind and friendly staff! Although this is not a fancy hotel and as its above a pub was a little noisy early in the night, I would rate the Hour Glass 5/5 for my experience. A 2 minute walk from the bus stop, comfortable, welcoming and safe for a lone traveller. Thanks for making my first night in London that little bit easier!

The hotel is very basic, definitely with no frills attached! But it’s on a quiet street and the beds are nice enough to get a decent night’s sleep. The location is nice but a little too far from the nearest transport links, which is fine most of the time but a bit of a bother late at night or early in the morning! For the price, you can’t complain though. The mini-kitchen was useful and the associated pub is a good laugh! All things considered, it’s a fine little hotel and cheap. I’d stay here again
